Logunedé

Son of Oxóssi and Oxum, he unites the hunt of the forest and the wealth of the waters. He lives half the year in each domain. A young, beautiful orisha of abundance. Greeting: "Logun! Loci Loci!".

Who He Is

Logunedé (Lógunèdé) is the young orisha who unites in himself the inheritances of his parents: Oxóssi, the hunter of the woods, and Oxum, the lady of the fresh waters. It is said that he lives half the year in the forest — hunting, with his father — and the other half in the waters — in plenty and beauty, with his mother.

He is therefore the orisha of dual nature and of the abundance that comes from both land and river. He is portrayed as beautiful, vain, and full of charm, the symbol of a youth who inherits the best of two lineages.

Domains

  • Hunt and fishing — the provision of the forest and that of the water, united.
  • Abundance and beauty — the wealth inherited from Oxum, the skill inherited from Oxóssi.
  • Alternation — the rhythm between two worlds, two times, two ways of being.

In-Game Perspective

Logunedé is the principle of inheritance and alternation — a being defined by belonging to two domains without being reduced to either. He echoes, in the Wiki, the figures of the threshold and of dual belonging, like the characters who carry more than one nature.
