Semi-divine shepherd-king, consort of Inanna. Seasonally dead and resurrected. Tammuz in Akkadian, Adonis in Greek. Sacrificed by Inanna herself as substitute in the underworld after the Descent — grief spanning the goddess's entire chain.

God of wisdom, fresh water, and magical craft. Creator of humanity and the me's of civilization. In Akkadian, Ea — and, in the game, the Demiurge: architect of the psycho-social prison who broke the opposing faction through deception.

God of the sky, original sovereign of the Sumerian pantheon. His name becomes the divine sign (𒀭) preceding every other god's name. In the game, the Sumerian face of the Monade — the same center called Dao, Para Brahman, Olódùmarè, Nhanderu.

The primordial earth. Consort of An, mother of all that lives. In later traditions, absorbed into or identified with Ninhursag, "lady of the mountain".

"Lord of breath/air." Executive sovereign of the Sumerian pantheon. In the game, leader of the faction opposing Enki's vision of imprisonment — killed by granddaughter Inanna, victim of a Demiurge-crafted lie.

Sun god and deity of justice. The all-seeing eye — patron of travelers, judges, and legal codes. In Akkadian, Shamash.

Goddess of love and war, queen of heaven and earth. Lady of Uruk. In the game, opponent of Enki alongside Enlil and Nanna — and unwitting instrument of the lie that broke the faction. She loved Enheduanna.

Queen of the Sumerian underworld (Kur/Irkalla), elder sister of Inanna. In the game, she receives the player in the Kur and sends them to Aurora — a fundamental piece of a joint plan with her sister against the Demiurge's dominion.
